The upcoming ISRE meeting will take place from July 26th to 29th in St. Louis, MOSt. Louis is a thriving metropolitan area filled with cultural riches to explore. It was a transportation hub in the days of the railroad and Mississippi riverboats, and was considered the “Gateway to the West” as the starting point for wagons on the Oregon Trail. Many great neighborhoods and public works date to this time. The conference will be held in the Central West End, which has a European feel with small walkable streets and large sidewalks full of outdoor dining. Eateries include upscale, local, and ethnic cuisine. Our venue is the famed Chase Park Plaza, which often ranks as one of the best hotels in the country due to its luxurious renovation that preserves historical details of the landmark property. A light rail system to the airport is half a mile from the hotel. Washington University in St. Louis is a top-15 school in the US and a generous supporter of the ISRE conference. St. Louis has easy flight connections across the country and to major hubs for overseas flights. Indeed, the airport was featured in the George Clooney movie “Up in the Air,” which has great examples of social regulation.
